What is OFS?

Options for Services (OFS) was developed in response to the administrative challenges experienced by individuals, families and support networks managing their own services.   OFS was created with the intention that administrative support would never impact the integrity of a self-directed model.  The goal of Options for Services (OFS) is to provide administrative support to people who self-manage.  Our aim is to develop the capacity of individuals, families, and support networks to manage their own services confidently and sustainably.
In collaboration with individuals, families and support networks, Options for Services designs short term administrative agreements that are flexible, creative and customizable based on individual administrative needs.   OFS is available on a fee for service basis.

OFS offers administrative support in the following areas:

Human Resources

· Developing hiring and  orientation documentation
· Hiring employees
· Coordinating staff meetings or training opportunities
· Facilitating goal setting with employees or supervisors
· Information and training on basic Employment Standards

Payroll

· Finding and setting up with a payroll company
· Providing information and training on CRA requirements
· On-going payroll submissions

Business Set Up

· Developing a budget based on funding eligibility
· Setting up a business number, bank account, and WCB

Financial Reporting

· Developing a financial reporting system
· Providing information and  connection to a bookkeeper or accountant

Coordination

· Coordinating and documenting medical appointments
· Keeping track of and ordering supplies
· Coordinating the details of a move, vacation, or other event
